Why Implement Fire Protection?

Fire protection is a moral and legal obligation to ensure the safety of people at work. If fire safety is not met, for example, through passive fire protection, the economic and social effects of a fire can be catastrophic.

Fire protection is important because it provides:

• Protection for personnel – it gives people time to escape or take cover during a fire
• Protection of assets – it minimizes damage to the structure before the fire department can arrive

Passive epoxy-based fire protection for hydrocarbon fires, combined with corrosion protection. Together with anti-corrosion paint, the system is approved for corrosivity classes up to C5.

How does Chartek® function as epoxy-based passive fire protection?

Chartek® is an epoxy-based passive fire protection material that
swells in a fire, creating an insulating, durable char layer that slows down
the temperature increase in the steel. Fire protection for up to four hours.

Performed at our facility in Varberg or as an on-site contract.

Passive fire protection for cellulose-based fires for indoor and outdoor use. Protects open and closed steel profiles against loss of load-bearing capacity for up to 120 minutes.

Combined with anti-corrosion paints in corrosivity classes C1-C4. Typical applications include steel structures for trusses, steel frames, floor structures, and other constructions.

Epoxy-based, passive fire protection for cellulose fires, combined with corrosion protection. A relatively new material that, together with anti-corrosion paint, is approved for corrosivity classes up to C5.

The fire protection provides a hard and durable surface that is well-suited for installation work without significant damage.
