The New Slussen Bridge, Stockholm

The steel bridge is unique of its kind in Sweden and will serve both as a bridge for traffic over the lock channel and as a roof for the premises beneath the bridge. It will also protect people moving around Slussen from the elements, says Peter Svärd, project manager for the Slussen redevelopment.

The bridge is delivered in one piece from Zhongshan, China, and will be approximately 140 meters long and 55 meters wide. Its weight is approximately 3700 tons.
